Propolis is a complex product in which over 300 different chemical compounds have been detected. There are primarily flavonoids, phenolic acids, terpenes, sterols, aromatic acids, esters, alcohols, aldehydes, microelements, antibacterial and antifungal substances among them. The healing properties of propolis are the result of the synergistic properties of active ingredients. It inhibit the growth of many Gram (+) and Gram (-) bacteria and it is called a natural antibiotic for that reason.
Propolis has a multidirectional treating and healthpromoting properties, such as: antiviral, antibacterial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-ulcer, antithrombotic, local anesthetic.
